Why hello, and welcome to the Philosoraptor Club! I thought up this idea, and I figured, eh, why not? Philosoraptor has been spread all over AG, and there should be a club! I thought up this. Here is what members of the Philosoraptor Club will do: 1. Share important news 2. Debate together/against each other, on topics that concern or are covered by Philosoraptor 3. Put Viva La Philosoraptor! on their About 4. Respect other members of the Philosoraptor Club 5. Rank up by winning debates Got all that? Great. Now, anyone can join, but once you've been kicked out, you can't join again. Things that will get you kicked out include anything against AG rules. Pretty straightforward. Ranks/Members: Leader: Moatarmorgamer(even though I'm not a debating god, I made the club) That's it. I will update as people join(if they join). I will post the two Philosoraptor banners in a bit.
Fine, fine dudeguy, but I liked how they had sort of a mysterious ring to them.I'll change the ranks up a bit, though in the process.
Patriarch: Leader Cardinal: Second in command Archbishop: Leader of bishops(therefore, he/she would be leader of debate in bishop teams) High Priest: Leader of priests(therefore, he/she would be leader of debate in priest teams) Bishop: Leader of a singular church or unit(so perhaps, they would lead a few newb acolytes) Priest: High-ranked person in a single church(this is where they stop having any authority) Clergyman: Simply a step up from Acolyte, like proof that they are a for-real member, instead of a newb or one-timer. Acolyte: Beginner, hardly even a member.
Firefly, you can join, but you'll be placed on the For God team, since they're 2-3, and Alt doesn't seem to be participating.
Ok. This should be interesting. However I should warn you that I am in a different time zone to the rest of you guys, so I won't be replying immediately. It's 22:42 where I am, and I am going to bed. Work early tommorow. But rest assured I'll be back and will have had time to gather my thoughts.
That's it. I need to kickstart this debate. Therefore, I'm jumping in for half a second, to make sure it becomes a real debate instead of a half-hearted talk.
Also, how do we know that God is a male? Could "he" be a female?
God is neither male or female, for He exists outside all time, and all human restrictions, but He cannot be truly described, so we say that He is a He.
There is no proof that leprechauns don't exist. Therefore they exist? Oh wait, it's impossible to prove a negative...
Firefly, you dare debate against your own team-mates? Disregarding that, here is my response. He sent Jesus and many faithfuls to spread the word of His existence, yet he cannot truly show Himself, for if he did, it would require no faith to believe in Him. And so, how do you explain the miracles that Jesus performed? God lent some of His power, of course!
Particles, but the big bang was not a bang, as there is no sound in the vaccum of space.
The Big Bang, you say? And how did these particles come to be? So forgive me for asking, but I believe one of the most basic laws of matter is that it cannot be created nor destroyed? Therefore, within your laws of science, the Big Bang is foolish and false. But God exists out of all else, so he created the first matter, just as he created the first man.
This sounds a lot like what TSL said. So why did he decide to make us? Was he lonely? And if Jesus is his son, who did God have sex with to achieve this?
Take the debates to the propper forum so that everyone can participate. Otherwise, go ahead and debate to each other on someone's profile.
Not to be rude, but you misspelled 'roper'. And this isn't exactly intended to be for everyone. I mean, it's not that only a few people can participate, it's so that I can split it into fair teams, since there aren't really teams on the regular forum. And I would take the debate to the right forum, but there are already way too many God threads, and this isn't solely a debate thread, it's a club.
So why did he decide to make us? Was he lonely? And if Jesus is his son, who did God have sex with to achieve this?
He made us to spread His glory, and to create something else. Perhaps He was lonely, we'll never know. Jesus was not achieved by sex. He was simply created by God, and came to existence, as did God Himself. Alright, I'm calling the debate off. It's too early in the club. So right now, the Philosoraptor club is just resting.
