Guy Fawkes Night? I've heard of Guy Fawkes but not Guy Fawkes Night. Is that a night when you send out fireworks in memory to the failed Gunpowder Plot?
As of last year fireworks are banned everywhere at any time in Australia except for New Years Eve.
It's worth clarifying that Pazx means no setting them off in the backyard, and the article I found on this only mentions Canberra, I don't know about the rest of Australia. I'm pretty sure that licensed operators can still set off fireworks at certain times other than NYE.
I saw that piece of information too on Wikipedia. Still, the restrictions are rather tight. Doesn't seem anyone there celebrates that occasion any more.

Thanks Strop, yes licensed operators can and the reason you only saw Canberra mentioned is because ACT and NT were the last 2 states to ban fireworks. I think.
