I love how people hear the word radiation and panic, even if any of the fallout in Japan manages to make it's way to the west coast it's not going to be any different than the normal background levels.

Remember Chernobyl ? That nuclear disaster affected almost all of Europe, if not the entire world. I don't know if Japan is worse than that, but I'd keep my eyes open if I were you.
Indeed. Also you forget that Chernobyl occurred in Russia, which is a much closer to Europe, than Japan to the western United States. And if you'll pardon me, I'll believe the professional scientists over a teenager. [SOURCE]

I saw that quite a long time ago. The folks that did that special effects for that movie did 'em for LotR too.. and a bunch of other films.
